This is one of those subjects that many people have very string feelings abut one way or the other. I am personally a very pro gun person and to be honest would like to see an end to the need for permits.
With that said I agree with you on the common sense thing. If you are going to carry a firearm you need to be familiar with it. Practice practice practice. I know a lot of concealed carriers and they are among the most grounded people I have ever met.
Of course all it takes is one idiot to make the rest of us look bad.

although i really don't like guns at all i still think people should be free to own/use them.
carrying them should be a right too. however, i would hope common sense would prevail in people realizing this would be a very silly thing to do.
